 Safeguarding statement

We are an organisation fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of our safer recruitment process, full background checks — including an enhanced DBS check — will be required prior to employment.

Important Information for Applicants:

  • All applications will be assessed objectively against a consistent set of criteria relevant to the role.

  • Any discrepancies or anomalies in the information provided will be explored if an applicant is shortlisted.

  • References will be taken up for all shortlisted candidates, and always before a final offer of employment is made. Any concerns raised in references will be discussed directly with the candidate.

    • One reference must be from the current employer, or the most recent if the applicant is not currently employed.

    • If the applicant has previously worked in childcare, a reference from that setting will also be required.

Pre-Appointment Vetting Checks Include:

  • Verification of identity, including date of birth

  • Confirmation of original qualification certificates

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Overseas checks, where applicable

  • A DBS check (registered with the Update Service)

We will only appoint individuals who meet the requirements of our safer recruitment procedures and who demonstrate their suitability to work with children.
