Curious Minds, Confident Children

At KatieB Kids, the day is shaped around what children need most to thrive; connection, curiosity, movement, nature and emotional security. Children explore, create, investigate and play in an environment designed intentionally for them, supported by educators who know when to guide, when to observe, and when to step back and let curiosity lead.

Our daily rhythm is shaped by Let’s Nurture Futures, our relationship-led framework designed to nurture confident, curious and emotionally secure children in a rapidly changing world.

Learning shaped by play. Inspired by children.

What you’ll notice here…

  • Children who feel emotionally secure and confident to explore.

  • Educators who listen closely and respond to children’s ideas.

  • Environments designed intentionally for curiosity and independence.

  • Outdoor learning and movement woven naturally into the day.

  • A calm, consistent rhythm that helps children feel safe and settled.

  • Care that feels like home, supported by professional expertise.

Children don’t move from activity to activity.

They build ideas.

Revisit discoveries.

Collaborate with others.

And grow in confidence through doing.

Because when learning begins with curiosity, it becomes something children truly own.

Let’s Play:

  • Invitation-Led Play

  • Curiosity and Exploration

  • Indoor and Outdoor Learning

Play is how young children make sense of the world.

Within our Let’s Nurture Futures™ Framework, Let’s Play is the pillar that shapes how learning unfolds each day, through curiosity, exploration, movement, creativity and connection.

We structure the day around simple invitations that open doors to discovery:

Let’s Create. Let’s Investigate. Let’s Perform. Let’s Move. Let’s Rest. Let’s Discover.

These invitations reflect how children naturally learn, through play, relationships, imagination and meaningful experiences.

In our carefully designed environment, children have continuous access to resources that encourage independence, exploration and deep engagement inside and out.

Our educators observe closely, listen carefully and respond thoughtfully, extending ideas when the moment is right.

We draw inspiration from international early childhood approaches such as Reggio Emilia, where children’s curiosity and ideas shape the direction of learning.

Let’s Nurture Nature:

  • Relationship with the natural world

  • Stewardship and sustainability

  • Nature as a teacher

Children grow best when they grow in relationship with the natural world.

Within Let’s Nurture Futures™, Let’s Nurture Nature recognises that nature is not simply a backdrop for play, it is a powerful teacher. Time spent outdoors helps children develop resilience, curiosity, emotional wellbeing and a deep sense of connection with the world around them.

Through daily outdoor experiences and our Forest School approach, children explore changing seasons, observe wildlife, investigate natural materials and discover the rhythms of the environment.

These experiences nurture more than knowledge. They help children develop patience, responsibility and respect for the living world.

Children learn that nature is something to care for as well as enjoy. They plant seeds, wait for things to grow, explore where food comes from and begin to understand the small actions like composting food scraps that help protect our planet.

In doing so, they develop a quiet confidence and a lasting connection to the natural world, foundations that support both wellbeing and responsible citizenship as they grow

Learning without walls.

Outdoor Exploration Every Day.

Outdoor play at KatieB Kids isn’t a break from learning, it’s a rich part of it.

Have a peek at practice and you might see children storytelling beneath a tree, building with loose parts, sorting leaves and pebbles, making marks in mud, or building obstacle courses that challenge their bodies and imagination.

Time outdoors helps children to develop:

  • Resilience and confidence.

  • Physical strength and coordination.

  • Sensory awareness and curiosity

  • Emotional wellbeing

Our educators model curiosity and joy in the natural world, stepping in only to guide, extend or celebrate a discovery.

Active Bodies, Active Minds

Movement is woven throughout the day because we know a moving child is a learning child.

Children climb, balance, dance, crawl , swing and stretch, strengthening both body and brain. These experiences build coordination, confidence and the motor skills children will need later for writing, self care and independence.

From Forest School adventures to imaginative indoor games and yoga, children enjoy abundant opportunities to move, explore and challenge themselves.

Our educators guide and inspire, supporting safe risk-taking, encouraging children to develop resilience, independence, and self-expression.

Because when children move, they don’t just grow stronger, they grow more confident, connected, and capable for life.

Growing Calm, Confident Minds

Proudly offering dots, a mindfulness programme for 3-6, led by internationally respected MiSP trainer Dr Nick Buckley.

Through playful, age appropriate sessions, children learn to notice their breath, recognise their feelings and develop early tools for focus, empathy and emotional regulation.

Mindfulness is woven naturally into daily routines helping children learn to pause, reflect and return to play with confidence.

Families often notice calmer, more self aware children both at nursery and at home.

Food Glorious Food

The kitchen is at the heart of our nursery.

Children enjoy family-style mealtimes, where they serve themselves, pour drinks, and share food with friends, building independence, confidence, and a sense of community.

Our award-winning meals are freshly prepared each day, providing children with wholesome, nutritious food that supports healthy growth and active play.

Breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks, a nutritious lunch with popular healthy puddings, and a mid-afternoon tea ensure every child is well nourished and ready for learning and play.

Food is also part of learning. Children explore cooking, baking, peeling, chopping and growing, discovering new flavours and developing practical life skills along the way.

Sleep and Rest

Rest is essential in early childhood.

We work closely with families to follow each child’s familiar sleep routines, helping them feel safe, secure and comfortable when settling for rest.

Quiet corners and calm spaces throughout the nursery allow children to pause and recharge whenever they need.

These moments of rest support emotional regulation, wellbeing and the energy children need to explore and learn.

Daytime Siblings,

One Big Family

Children of different ages share parts of the day together, creating a warm, cooperative daytime family.

Older children naturally support younger ones, helping with coats, sharing ideas and modelling kindness. Younger children observe, copy and grow in confidence through these interactions.

This mixed-age environment encourages empathy, independence, and collaboration, helping children develop the social and emotional skills that underpin lifelong learning.

End of Day Connections

Pick up is more than a handover, it’s a moment to celebrate your child’s day.

Educators share what your child explored, what captured their curiosity and the moments they felt proud of. These conversations help families understand and extend learning beyond the nursery walls.

At KatieB Kids, children are surrounded by a community that knows them, values them and celebrates their growth every day.
